"Why Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Film is Strewn with Brilliance"

All credits-Zeyno films

Amidst the rustic landscape of Anatolian town of Keskin, a trio of the local prosecutor, police commissar, and a doctor embarks on a quest to locate the victim of a murder.

Over the course of the night, the trio frustratingly search for the victim's body. The suspect, Kenan, is unable to recall the spot owing to the darkness and indistinct landscape.

The joy of watching the film lies in uncovering the seemingly casual chatter among the various characters, which, however, leaves an indelible mark on the mind of the viewer.

One important theme discussed is that children apparently pay for their parents' mistakes.

The appearance of women, while for a short period, has an astounding effect on the scene they are in.

The movie premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival where it was a co-winner of the Grand Prix.
